The highest average salary by sector has been noted in Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals, and amounted to a PLN 12 170 monthly wage. Two factors determined the high level of salaries in this sector. The first being that, due to its innate characteristics, only large, multinational companies operate in this sector. The second is associated with the higher competence requirements that employees working in this sector are faced with, due to the specialist nature of knowledge that they must possess, which also makes the average salary higher.

The lowest salaries are offered in the SSC/BPO sector. The reason behind this is the high number of entry-level positions in the sector, which are usually taken by young individuals who are only at beginning of their career

How much do Polish professionals and managers earn?

Results of the Antal International study show that salaries of Polish professionals and managers in the first half of 2011 are greatly varied.  Their size depends largely on the state of the economy, but also differs significantly between sectors.

Increased recruitment activity among employers means that an employee's market will soon emerge in most fields of expertise.  Despite a relatively high unemployment rate of 12.6% (Main Statistical Office data for April 2011), professionals and managers are in no position to complain about the lack of job opportunities.

Professionals and managers are worth their weight in gold

The number of recruitment processes conducted by all Antal International teams leads us to believe that employers of all sectors are actively seeking new employees. An increased demand for professionals is especially evident in the following sectors: IT, finance and automotive. The market demand for engineers is on the rise – their skills are desired not only be Polish employers, but also German companies.  The demand for highly qualified professionals greatly outweighs their numbers and, therefore, the best candidates are being lured with higher salaries.

Engineers are in demand

Professional and managerial salaries may be considered relatively high when compared to the Polish average. This is especially true in the case of employees with unique skills that are crucial for the organization’s development.
